Meet The Team

As it stands, currently, we are a 2-person team (someday, we may like to work with more paranormal enthusiasts). This blog is crafted...

Our Homemade Horror Flick

A few years ago, after seeing the movie Paranormal Activity (well, a few of them from the franchise), we felt inspired to make our own sort of cheesy version of it. This was filmed when we used to live in Calgary - this was Chateau Apartments, where we really did see the blue mist from time to time. It's too bad that didn't make an appearance among our special effects...

Anyhow, please as you're watching this, realize that we're not mocking spirits. We did this because at the time of filming, Halloween was around the corner - my second-favorite holiday!

Please be kind in the comments - we already know this is lame, and it was made that way on purpose!

👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻

So, what is your favorite movie about ghosts? Let us know!

Orb Photos

As promised, here are some of Rob's and my photos of personal experience with orbs.

At least one of these has a shadow person, but still interesting when someone from beyond, inadvertently happens to be passing through at the time the picture is taken.

It seems, the older the location, the more orbs there often are.

Heritage Park (where we got married in 2011)

One orb is above the head of the lady dancing with the young boy.

That is not the moon. It's one large orb seen during a smoke break.

On the far left, an orb moves up toward the speaker. One guest said she saw an older man there.

An orb right in front of Rob's private area, hahaha. Friendly female spirit?

Two orbs near the podium (one in bottom front) while M/C speaks.

Maybe a loved one showing support to Rob as we wed...?

Two orbs near the piano (one on the white table cloth)

I believe, when it comes to the above wedding photos, that there were a combination of our deceased loved ones, and the ghosts that already haunt the park (we almost got married at the Prince House outside, but a freak thunderstorm moved us to the Wainwright Hotel).

Heritage Park (other)

And in addition to the wedding photos, Heritage Park is built around real, old houses with histories. This is why a lot of tourists and staff alike, have been reporting ghost sightings there for years. It even got featured in a documentary called Things That Go Bump. These are more personal photos, mostly taken by Rob.

Looks misty to the left of the toy castle (well, the castle's right).

Small orb on the top-left of the mirror's frame. The sunlight looks a bit 'dewy' here, too.

Orb in the top-right of the picture, close to the painting.

Calgary Ghost Tours - Inglewood

Perhaps the most notable 'ghost' picture we captured, was a random snap of the Rouge Restaurant in Inglewood, during a ghost tour. Later when looking through our pictures, it appeared to be a somewhat transparent woman, either sat alone at the table, or a waitress 'serving' (perhaps a crossover or something from a previous time?). Not sure (we're enthusiasts, not experts).

The others at the other windows, are real people sat and eating. Note how her clothes appear old fashioned.

Also from the same restaurant (formerly a house), this interesting image was snapped, possibly looking out the window at us, the tour group.

This is the diner in Inglewood where Rob & I used to go on dates. If you look at the ceiling (just past the middle pillar), there appears to be a moving streak of light. It might be a reflection, but of what? We're not sure.

Vista Heights, Calgary

We moved here when I was just 11 years old. Emotionally young, and at the onset of puberty, I was incredibly sensitive and this was probably the most 'psychic' I'd ever been. The basement really gave me the willies, as whenever doing laundry, it felt like being watched. The first major paranormal event I recall experiencing, had to do with the basement. Though we no longer have the recording, back in early 2009 (I believe), Rob brought a laptop and microphone to pick up some possible EVPs, and we did hear the stairs creaking when everyone was in the living room at the time of recording. Here are some pictures of that basement:

One smaller orb (maybe a child).

This wall always gave me the creeps; seems to have been doodled on by two young brothers who lived here before us.

Large and bright orb, and some smaller ones.

The Next Basement

Now, my mum & Grams still live in Calgary, but currently in an older 'chicken coop' style house in Oak Hill Estates. Again, due to our fascinated meddling, we investigated their basement.

A pretty ordinary picture of stored items. But out of several that we took, this one is the only one with one small orb, up in the rafters. It's not dust since there'd be more, and they'd be present in every image.

Our First Apartment - Terrace Gardens

Rob has a fascination with 'secret' places. When living at Terrace Gardens in downtown Calgary, one of his friends worked as a security guard there, and so let him in. The light looks a bit odd.

The other perspective of the room seems more dim. A few vague orbs are seen, one specifically to the right of the far door.

This image of his friend/security guard shows that the light is again eerily bright (the room was actually dim), and there is one tiny orb going toward the elevator, while another floats behind the guard's leg).

Our Second Home - Chateau Apartments

These were from when we moved out in 2015 (after 6 long years there). At first, it was just a picture to document the emptiness of our room with the bed gone.

Two orbs are visible, the one near the heart-shaped lamp is large.

Original picture, just to document how our place was coming undone bit by bit as we moved out.

Miscellaneous Halo

Rob is a great person, with a generous soul and silly sense of humor. He is friendly and overall caring. However, aside from that, I consider him a human being like anyone else... so it was an interesting discovery to see this older picture of him at a family event, with a 'halo' behind his head. Maybe he's more angelic than I gave him credit for...?

Day in Banff, 2011

Shortly after our wedding, Rob's dad took us on a day trip to Banff at one point. We posed for a picture in one of the beautiful parks, and though nothing seemed out of the ordinary there at the time, we later noticed one of the people in the background was not only quite 'shadowy' (all dark with muddled features), but also semi-transparent:

You can see the bushes behind them, right through them. Also, too dark to be a shadow one of the 2 people in front.

The Palliser Hotel - Room 1001

This picture is one of a more intimate nature, but thankfully the block takes a lot of that out. In 2014, Rob & I came here to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary, as well as the 100-year anniversary of the Fairmont Palliser Hotel (Rob is really into history).

Note, the orbs appear sporadically, there are about 4 of them. The furthest from the washroom is also the brightest, while the oher 3 that appear (one right on my face!) are in the bathroom doorway.

Sadly, it's not uncommon for hotel bathrooms to be haunted, since this is a prime spot for suicides. Very tragic indeed.

If it's any correlation, I recall the first night there, I felt overcome with sorrow and ended up crying a lot. Spirits carry energy, often the strong energy felt at the time of death (fear, anger, sadness, etc).

Las Vegas (Haunted Vegas Ghost Tour)

Believe it or not, it was going on this tour in late September of 2018, that inspired this whole blog.

Rob is agnostic, while I believe strongly in God and Jesus. I'd like to point out that this blog is in no way meant to glorify evil or harmful demons. I do believe that, although when humans pass away they are to be dormant until Judgement Day, in many cases the time of death is so intense - plus the immense feelings of guilt most people feel over their sins, even though we all do it and God loves us all - the spirits of humans can have a great deal of trouble, 'letting go' and moving on from the earth. This is why I like to dedicate my time to reaching out and speaking with them, to remind them that, God loves them and wants them back with Him, and that it is okay to let go and move on. I could only imagine the years of torment some of them feel while still roaming.

Anyhow, everyone has their own reasons for being interested in ghost tours, and that is mine. Rob is interested in them for different reasons.

This was the first tour we did, where we went beyond walking and hearing stories, and got to use interactive equipment, which made the connection feel more real. This inspired me and Rob to download the XB7 Spirit Box app and start talking with them, so far in a variety of haunted locations in Las Vegas. Below are some pictures taken during this most previous tour.

The Fox Ridge Park, where the spirit of a 6-year-old boy roams and especially enjoys the swings. I'm holding an EMF meter.

The dowsing rods are pointing at me, as I asked if there was someone right in front of me, and then invited them to hug me.

I'd like to remind you all, if you want to invite contact with a ghost, pray fervently to the Lord for protection. This way, the evil (that which fears God) will stay away and you're more apt to connect with a human spirit).

Our idea of romance. Every couple has their 'thing'.

After a wait of a couple minutes, my questions finally started getting answered by whomever was lighting up this EMF meter. This was taken outside the wedding chapel, across from the Benjamin Siegel memorial.

Thank you for sitting through our collection of personal pictures. This post will get updated as we find more.

We also encourage you to share your own with me at renstimpy1234@gmail.com and get featured on this paranormal blog.

Meet The Team

As it stands, currently, we are a 2-person team (someday, we may like to work with more paranormal enthusiasts). This blog is crafted to share our experiences of the paranormal with you, over the past decade and beyond. We also welcome you to submit your own stories, photos, videos & EVPs here.

Meet Rob Januszewski

The husband and the technical expert. Rob is an audio engineer with a CTSR Diploma from SAIT. In his spare time, he is dubbing music for clients, or playing with audio programs for fun.

He is the expert when it comes to the actual equipment used, such as the EMF (electro-magnetic field reader), Spirit Box apps, and if it has a Hz, he's using it.

Rob's interest in the paranormal dates back to when he was a child, and came upon a creepy cabin in a wooded area, while visiting his grandparents in Red Deer (Alberta), by Convent Hill. Over time, his curiosity led to collecting several ghost story books, and in his 20s, he began going on ghost tours.

In fact, for our very first Halloween together (in 2008), he took me on my first-ever ghost tour!

First paranormal encounter: I remember going on a tour of the Queen Mary ship (looks a lot like the Titanic) in 1992. I was just about 13 years old. I believe there was a guide giving a tour, and I looked at a man by a bank of elevators. I didn't think much of it, he wasn't looking back at me, as he was at a distance. Suddenly, he vanished into thin air right while I was looking at him. He didn't even really go into an elevator...

Years later, I found out the Queen Mary was thought to be very haunted. Especially cabin B340, where dating as far back as 1967, there have been reports of doors slamming shut, lights flickering and faucets running by themselves.

Meet Daryl Januszewski

The wife and the psychic medium (specifically, I was born an Empath, meaning I have extra-sensory feelings). Though she also has an interest in the equipment used, she is more into the connection felt with spirits, and though sometimes intimidated by unknown spirits, she reaches out to talk to them and learn their stories. After all, ghosts are people too! (How would you feel if people screamed and ran away every time you came near them or wanted to say something?)

Daryl has been able to 'pick up frequencies' since late childhood, when able to accurately predict the next song on the radio multiple times, as well as making it go staticky while walking past. Her interest in the paranormal comes from growing up in a haunted house in Vista Heights, Calgary.

First paranormal encounter:  The first one that I recall (being real, as witness by a childhood friend) was during a small sleepover, just me and a girl named Rachael - we were about 12 years old. She & I were on the main level of my house, having used a large quilt over our kitchen table. We began giggling and telling ghost stories, the only source of light being our flashlights. The rest of the lights were off, as everyone else in the home had retired to bed. As she started telling a mock story about me, we both suddenly heard a very LOUD scratching/scraping noise coming from the open entrance to the basement. Startled, we both stopped and slowly peeked out from behind the quilt and peered toward the dark door (which was only about 10-15 feet away). The stairs down had a landing in the middle, which is where the cats' litterbox was kept; the noise came from there, but it was much too loud to have been caused by them. We both felt a really 'evil' entity, though we couldn't see it, we could sense it was there waiting to harm us/looking at us. Within 3 seconds, we were bolting upstairs to my bedroom!! To further remind us it wasn't the cats, we noticed they were both sound asleep upstairs.

Ever since then, I've had a few other spooky encounters in that place. The majority of them seemed to either involve the basement area, or take place nearby. I later learned from Rob, that Vista Heights' general neighborhood was built on an old burial ground.

Here is a picture photographed in that basement. Note the orbs (not dust, we checked that out):

And another random snap as I turned around...

It appears there are multiple spirits there at the time, about 4. If these were dust, they'd be all over the air, and they would be more uniform in size.

A comprehensive list of Daryl's experiences

Shared Paranormal Encounter:

It was about 2011, early Spring, so this makes the cold room an anomaly. Anyhow, it was late, I think close to 11pm and Rob was already asleep (he gets up very early for work). I tend to stay up a bit later, and we were in the dark (only dim light from the office building across the way, as this was our second apartment in Calgary).

Anyhow, I was half-asleep by this point and sort of lost in thought as I gazed across the room. I noticed a light blue formation, almost like a cloud of mist, hovering in front of one of the closets. It was eerie, but I wrote it off as a hallucination. Suddenly, though it was warm outside, the room suddenly felt very cold, for a minute or two. I went further under the covers. I still didn't think a whole lot of this, other than that it was odd.

The radio was on (we always sleep with background noise), and it started to cut in & out, and get some static. I was starting to feel nervous and uneasy at this, all the while, the blue mist was still visible by our closet.

Suddenly, Rob woke up and grabbed my leg, making me jump! He said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought I just saw you walk out the door and was just checking to see if you're still here." So whatever that was, he saw it too. It must've moved, perhaps like a shadow person, out of our doorway and into the living room, before our bedroom went back to normal temperature.

Anyhow, at his words, I was terrified and dove under the covers for the rest of the night, despite the warmer temperature! The next day, I asked him if he remembered and he does, quite clearly.

Ever since that night (over the 6 years in that apartment), we have both seen a blue mist out of the corners of our eyes. Mainly, it was seen in the washroom.
